We all are different in all ways. But there is something what unites us and that is our national identity. And all nations have their own. What kind of national characteristics do we, latvians, have? What does the world think about us? We surely can find answers to these questions, but there will never be just one right answer. You could ask 10 different people from the same place what it meant to be a person from their country and you would get 10 different answers. 10 different 'ideas' of what it means to be a national from a given place. One's idea of nationality may be grounded in politics, religion, sport, music, war, peace, who knows. And it will most certainly be shaped by the country's relations with other neighbouring countries.…
