CONCLUSION
There are a lot of different perspectives from whom to search for the most used software programs for quantitative methods in decision making. Because a lot of things can be called quantitative methods in decision making and not always the most bought programs can be called the ‘most used’.
During the last 20 years a lot has changed regarding software programs in general but also regarding those who work with quantitative methods in decision making. If we look back, there were totally different programs, with whom people tried to do all of that.
A lot of people have tried to determine the ‘most used’ or ‘most popular’ software programs for quantitative methods in decision making, but, as mentioned before, there are a lot of angles from whom to look for that, meaning there are many answers to that question.
Looking at some of the researches made by specialists in the field of statistics and decision making, it is possible to see that the most commonly seen programs in the top places are R, SPSS and SAS.
If we think about the programs regarding decision making, generally, you need to understand what to do with the data, and how to interpret the results, software that is designed for statistical analysis can make this process as smooth and as easy as possible. A great number of tools are available to carry out statistical analysis of data, and when choosing a tool for data analysis, now more commonly referred to as analytics or data science, there are many factors to consider:
