In conclusion, the author told the story in the first person point of view of its main character Holden, in order to get adolescents to read his book, so they can get experience in the life which may allow them to solve problems by themselves. There are many advantages and disadvantages of having the novel told from the first person point of view. One of these advantages is that the author makes the novel seem more realistic and close to adolescents' imaginations. Secondly, the author focused only on one character which helped the readers to know this character better and how he thinks or behaves, so the readers can understand the idea of the story more in depth and details. For the disadvantages, he did not give detail information about other characters like the reward of their work if it is good or bad. Anyway, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages because Holden told his own story, so most of the events are true, but he may tell some lies in the story, but it still obvious, and the reader can figure it out easily.…
