The Matrix is a work of science fiction because it uses science and technology to create meaningful metaphors and allegories that is reflections or ideas of the world in which we live. Often times, science fiction writers will use technology in order to create a lesson about life or social living. This was done many times in The Matrix. An example of this is when Morpheus explains that people have become so hopelessly dependent on the system, and that they will fight to protect it. It can be seen that what Morpheus is saying can be seen as a metaphor for how people would rather chose to believe what they are told and live in ignorance rather then face the hardships of reality.…
