Maiņstrāvas elektromotoru iedalījums
Sinhronie motori - rotē ar frekvenci, kas ir tieši proporcionāla maiņstrāvas frekvencei.

Asinhronie motori - motori, kas rotē ar ātrumu, kas ir nedaudz mazāks par sinhrono ātrumu un kuriem rotorā tiek inducēta strāva.

Asinhronos motorus sīkāk var iedalīt:
motori ar fāzu rotoru (rotorā ir tinumi)
motori ar īsslēgtu rotoru (rotorā nav tinumu)
