In addition to the temporal world of the ideal state, there lies more corruptibility within an absolute philosopher king than a nation under the rule of law. Since the philosopher leader supplies rules for daily troubles rather than carrying out preexisting bylaws, he is subject to his own mercy. Instead of having a greater authority, which would be written policies, there are no boundaries to the king's power. Even though theoretically this person is to be the most qualified and prepared for this duty, it is very impractical to assume any human to completely surrender his desires for the benefit of the state. Conversely, Aristotle's best system calls for rule by law which confines improbity because of the appearance of a superior power that pertains to all citizens and officials of the state.…
