Implications and suggestions for further research
The main implication of this investigation is that it doesn't take into account other factors that can affect relationships. It ignores the personality factor as well as overlooking how much money a person has. Due to this I think that further research should be conducted looking at other factors that affects the matching hypothesis theory. This could be done by using a questionnaire as well as a similar investigation that I carried out. A field experiment could be conducted to display wealth and / or personality. For example, a man could flirt with a woman and mention that he is a millionaire or very poor. A questionnaire could then be given to the woman to find out how attracted she is to him, this could then be compared to a control.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I have found evidence that supports the matching hypothesis theory. The findings show that there is a clear positive correlation of 0.769. It is important to realise that this was a small investigation and needs to be extended to a wider population with more pictures of married couples.
