The second limitation is in regards to Hawaiian Airlines. This company has, in the past, filed for bankruptcy and is in the process of reorganization. Since we are looking at historical data, the ratios may not provide an accurate picture of how the operations of the company are doing at the current time, or how they may do in the future. Had we known this fact in the beginning of our research, we would have selected a different airline.
The final limitation is the events of September 11th. These were unusual events that the industry will eventually recover from. However, the data we analyzed is for the year 2001, which is the period directly impacted by the events. Due to this fact, the data in the financial statements may be unrepresentative of the airline's ability to generate profits during normal conditions.
