There was a particular wave-riding-surfer who stood out in school. One of the best surfers in the world, but Chris was never strong in his studies. When he came back from his surfing competitions, he was describing Puerto Rico one time. The way he describe this country was breath taking. The culture and beaches were moments he would cherish for the rest of his life. Our math teacher disliked how he rarely attended class. She tried to tell him that surfing was not the best choice as his career. As hard as she tried to tell him that college would open more doors. This college grad math teacher was not aware of the rare opportunity he would throw away. Chris never chose the path of a student but the path of a half-pipe champion of the world.
As my education continues, I hope high school trends don't have a transition towards college. …
