Jenny Waynest rescues Gareth of Magloshaldon from bandits in the Winterlands. Gareth tells Jenny that he is on a quest of terrible importance and needs to find Lord John Aversin the Dragonsbane, Thane of Alyn Hold and Lord of Wyr. Gareth tells John Aversin that he was sent by the King, Uriens of Belmarie to bring him south to slay a dragon in the Deep of Ylferdun, city of the gnomes. Gareth promised John with the King's Seal that the King will send troops to protect the northlands, send scholars and bring knowledge back to the people. Gareth realizes that Jenny is John's wife…
