The youth in Europe is considered to be aged 15-29 according to “EUROSTAT”.[1] The voting rates in Latvian elections are and have been low, especially among youth.[2] [3]Politicians and political parties have constantly failed to attract youth to the voting process. Initially, this essay explores the reasons behind the low voter turnout among youth in Latvia, and its consequences. Further, it will be shown what exactly are the consequences if youngsters do not take part in the voting process and what kind of action that can cause. In contrast, solutions to this problem will also be discussed, for example, from the government's side regarding the budget investment in teaching people about the voting process, as well as from the political parties' sides to put more focus on the youth voter group.…
