Gary Paulsen

Gary Paulsen was born on May 17, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He spent a lot of time in the library because he had problems at home. He had a hard time in school too. He loves horses and dogs (he has many). He lives on a ranch in Becida, MN and also spends time in La Luz, New Mexico. He is married to an illustrator, Ruth Wright Paulsen. Gary Paulsen writes his books about things he has really experienced in his life. He really has been in a forced landing of a plane like in Hatchet.
