The first form of electronic marketing started in the 1900s with the use of the telephone as well as using radio and TV or advertising. Then came the invention of computers and the World Wide Web it has enabled companies to take part in electronic marketing. Now computers are available to everyone, for example there would not be many households in the UK who would not have access to a computer and for those that haven’t it is possible they could use internet cafe. IT skills have also been taught in schools and colleges for some years now so a large proportion of the population know how to use them. This has opened up new areas for companies to trade in with the internet allowing companies to trade globally. Online shopping has now become quite popular because of this. It is popular because the customer can browse many sites to find the product it wants at the right price from the comfort of its own home.
