During the day he caught lots of rats and he brought them enclosed in a cage. He waited for a while and when all of the aliens gathered together brave Billy released the rats from the cage.
You can imagine what happened when the monsters noticed hundreds of rats rushing towards them with no fear.
They all got into their ships and escaped in rush from New York leaving everything behind. The people were feasting for a whole week, and they later erected a monument of Hill Billy to show him their gratitude. He was also offered the position of mayor of the town, but he refused, and returned to his chickens and rocking chair.
