Study work in the study course of freight forwarding and supply chain management

The research in terms of the course freight forwarding and supply chain management was conducted to overview the main tendencies, principles, and challenges in supply chain management nowadays, as well as to analyze how it impacts the work of multinational enterprise – Canon Inc. Therefore, this report will overview Canon`s approach and response to the modern tendencies of supply chain management, and the possible risks of that.
As the main bibliographical resources, reports “Beyond COVID-19: Supply Chain Resilience Holds Key to Recovery” by B. McKenzie and “Supply chain of the future: Key principles in building an omnichannel distribution network” by W. Fleischer, were chosen to find out the key future and modern practices of SCM, operating in COVID-19 pandemic circumstances and the constantly changing market. These two topics are analyzed in this report because COVID-19 has changed the global economic landscape, therefore such sectors as automotive, textiles, and electronics were hit the hardest by pandemic consequences. Therefore, it is crucial to find out how the electronics manufacturing company Canon Inc. faced the COVID-19 challenges in supply chain management. As well as the digitalization of the supply chain process and the omnichannel distribution network are described to understand the benefits of the modern approaches, in terms of speed, complexity, and efficiency.…
