Abstract
For many years, instant coffee remains a very popular drink in many areas of the world. It may even account for more than 50% of all coffee consumption in some countries. Instant coffee is also faster, cheaper, and easier to make than ground coffee. This article suggests that instant coffee is worser than ground coffee concerning the human health. The article aims to explore the characteristic features and people’s opinion on instant and ground coffee in order to appraise their overall impact on a human organism by conducting a survey among 29 people. The results showed that instant coffee is a drink that serves as a good source of energy for a human body, at the same time providing various benefits, not only those that are associated directly with health. The article concludes that instant coffee can be considered as healthy, low-calorie beverage that is linked to the same health benefits as ground coffee with differences mainly in caffeine content and acrylamide concentration.
