Tourism in Latvia

Tourism is quite new industry, it’s only 50 years old, but during these 50 years it has become one of the largest industries in the world and it is an essential and very profitable sector of the economy.
Tourism worldwide is popular and Latvia is not and exception. As well as we – Latvians enjoy visiting other places, tourists are interested in our beautiful country.
Last year 1.8 million tourists from different places visited Latvia and on average every year this number increases per 10 percents. Tourism for our country is an essential thing mainly because of the money, which tourists spend here and more than 27 thousand people are working in the tourism sector. But there are also a lot of other things – like it promotes tolerance among nations, it’s the best way to learn more about the culture, and of course the language, which is spoken there.…
