In conclusion social inequality is very much evident today in the Travelling community in Ireland. With the assistance of Government lobbying and active involvement within the various Travelling organisations such as Pavee Point, the Irish traveller Movements and some other regional Traveller support progress although slow has steadily increased and some issues have been addressed and reformed. They have come a long way but for the Travelling community the road ahead is a long and winding one. However in contemporary society in Ireland issues of inequalities will always arise and seem inevitable. In an ideal world maybe someday Travellers might then have the experience of being treated and regarded as full, equal citizens of Ireland. We live in hope.…
