Cēzara algoritms ir šifrs, kad burts tiek nomainīts ar citu alfabēta burtu no izejas burta šifrētā virzienā ar fiksētu burtu intervālu.

Cēzara algoritmam pamatā ir pa apli, par noteiktu skaitu, nobīdīti burti. Šo algoritmu izgudroja Romas imperators Gajs Jūlijs Cēzars.
Jūlijs Cēzars izmantoja šifru, kurā, pierakstot tekstu, burtus nobīdīja alfabētā par 3 uz priekšu, šifrs tika radīts pirms vairāk nekā 2000 gadiem, lai šifrētu Cēzara sūtītas ziņas saviem karavadoņiem.…
