Krusta kari bija vairākas militārās kampaņas no 11. līdz 13. gadsimtam, kuras sankcionēja Romas pāvests. Tie sākās ar pāvesta UrbānaII aicinājumu Klermonas koncilā 1095.gadā atkarot no "neticīgajiem" Jeruzalemi. Plašākā mērogā par krusta kariem var dēvēt jebkādas militārās kampaņas kristietības vārdā - rekonkistu Spānijā un krusta karus Ziemļeiropā, kuru mērķis bija pievērst kristietībai pēdējās pagānu tautas Eiropā.…
