DNS molekulas koncentrējas stingri noteiktā līmenī: pie mēģenes dibena, centrā vai mēģenes virsdaļā.

Smagāka 15N-DNS apstājās tuvāk centrifūgas mēģenes dibenam, nekā 14N-DNS.

Rezultāts
Hibrīdas DNS līdzsvara stāvoklis bija starp vieglo un smago DNS. Meitas DNS blīvuma noteikšana pēc pirmā un otrā divkāršojuma parādīja, ka DNS replikācija notiek pēc puskonservatīva mehānisma.
