Big Ben
Although the whole clock tower is usually named
as Big Ben, this is just the name of the bell. The
official name of the clock tower is Elizabeth Tower. This
tower is an important London landmark. The clock is
known for being an exellent time-keeper. The tower is
almost 100m tall. The clock mechanism weights 13 tonns.
Big Ben (the bell) was made in 1856. The bell cracked
when it was first tested. It was replaced with the present
Big Ben in 1859.…
