Inflation can have adverse effects on an economy. For example, unpredictability about future inflation may discourage investment and saving. High inflation may direct to shortages of wares if consumers begin hoarding out of concern that prices will increase in the future.
It has been a viable indicator for analyzing the economy of country and also for comparing the structural information, and since a high level of inflation can distort the economical performance of the country it, it makes it compulsory to analyze and identify the factors that are causing such situation, and basing on these factors after to provide the solution how to successfully cooperate with the following situation.

Thе аim оf this соursе pаpеr is tо еxаminе, bоth саusеs аnd соnsеquеnсеs оf inflаtiоn in саsе оf Lаtviа, аnd tо prоvidе suggеstiоns fоr pоssiblе sоlutiоns. Thе tаsks оf thе соursеpаpеr аrе tо study thе саsеs оf inflаtiоn in саsе оf Lаtviа, tо invеstigаtе pоssiblе соnsеquеnсеs оf inflаtiоn, аnd аlsо tо mаkе а соmpеrаtivе аnаlysis оf thе inflаtiоn оvеr thе lаst yеаrs. Finаlly, tо givе rесоmmеndаtiоns соnсеrning wаys оf соping with inflаtiоn in Lаtviа.

Methods used and structure of the paper
The literature analysis was made using both books and internet. The statistical data from the Eurostat and Central Statistical bureau is analyzed to successfully overview the situation in the case of Latvia. This course paper contains both theoretical information concerning what inflation is, what the inflation classification is. In the course paper the theoretical information about the ways of coping and the consequences of the inflation are going to be provided. Also the course paper contains economical analysis of the inflation in Latvia during the period of the last 8 years starting with year 2003 and ending with the beginning of the year 2009. Then In the conclusion, the effects of the inflation in the case of Latvia are going to be summarized. Finally in the recommendations part, recommendations for coping with inflation in Latvia will be given.…
