G. Motivation and Personal Focus
When learning about leadership, most people will come thought the concept of motivation. There are many competing theories which attempt to explain the nature of motivation explaining why people chose a particular course of action / behavior in preference to others. There is no simple generalized theory of motivation at work, however to understand some main theories of motivation must be useful for every leader.
According to Mullins (2002), there are some major approaches on motivation study such as expectancy-based models, equity theory, goal theory and attribution theory. So the leaders must evaluate the relevance of different theories, chose the best theories, how and to what extent they might be implemented for particular organization situations.
