As we can see, there is a lot of ways how European citizens are involved in legislation making process in EC. Because of importance of demography citizens have a vital role in making legislatives. In general they can express their opinion, they can be involved in making proposals, if they collect enough signatures. Even the churches and all religion organizations are respected and taken into account when decisions are made. Citizens can vote in European Elections, can apply to European Ombudsman (be as an representative between either the state or organization). There are so many options.
This all makes me think that European Commission is really made for union, for making countries closer, making their life easier. This makes me understand that even I could be involved in some big decision making process in such a big organization as European Community.
In the end I want to say that, this assignment was really interesting for me. The information which I obtained was very useful, because of all Business Law topics, this is the one where also my country is involved. Somehow I felt close to this topic. Just for information, my country, Latvia, joined the EC in 2004, at the same time with Cyprus and other small countries like Malta, Lithuania etc. I even found out that I can express my opinion about EC initiatives in Latvian web page - Latvia in EC. There is also a section called – Your Options - that includes job, studies, traveling, EC financial program. All this information will be very useful for me further on in a future.
