Euthanasia is: "inducing the painless death of a person for reasons assumed to be merciful", usually when the person is terminally ill. Euthanasia is one of the biggest controversies of the past decade. There are different types of euthanasia, but the main two types which are debated are; voluntary and direct euthanasia, which is chosen and carried out by the patient, and voluntary but indirect euthanasia, which is chosen in advance.
