To me it is one of the best short stories I have ever read. It's a real life expressed through every spec-trum, with deep and entertaining dialogues that will somehow give you unexpected emotions. The writing is simplistic yet the message imparted in the story tugs the heart. The work is really touching and sentimental so i could define it as drama. I would recommend this story to everyone - to chil-dren so they knew they have to appreciate their parents, also to adults so they didn’t forget in their busy life rhythm about being kind to others. I can compare this story with «A Rainbow for a Friend» by by Mikhail Samarsky, because it also makes readers to ponder.
In conclusion, I really enjoyed Anton Chekhov's story «A Day in the Country», but I expected more from the ending, so the story receives 9 out of 10 from me.
