Abstract: The optimal mechanical properties of bones are crucial for supporting movement and protecting vital organs. There are different ways of determening these properties, including compression, torsional, and tensile testing. In this article results of three-point testing were analyzed. The aim of the calculations was to deepen the understanding of biomechanical properties through the analysis of bone load-deformation data using computer software.
Keywords: Biomechanical properties, three-point testing, femur, stiffness, flexural strength, absorber energy, flexural modulus

1. Introduction
In the preclinical study of bones, rodent models are still significant. They give the opportunity to understand bone tissue's biomechanical properties better, and how these properties correspond to the bone metabolism of living organisms as well [1]. The rodent models allow to investigate the physiological processes of bone healing and to uncover positive or negative effects in the use of certain drugs [2]. One of the ways how it is possible to determine biomechanical properties of bone tissue is three-point bending. It is a frequent and prevalent method of mechanical testing in small animal fracture models because of its simple and reproducible setup [3]. From data collected in three-point testing, it is possible to calculate mechanical properties like stiffness, flexural strength, absorbed energy, and flexural modulus.…
