Eiropas Ogļu un Tērauda savienība
Rietumvalstu ekonomiskā integrācija aizsākās 1950. gadā, kad Francijas ārlietu ministrs Roberts Šūmans aicināja VFR, Itāliju, Beļģiju, Luksemburgu un Nīderlandi uz sadarbību, lai nodrošinātu šīs valstis ar nepieciešamajām izejvielām, oglēm, dzelzi, tēraudu. 1951. gadā izstrādāja un apstiprināja projektu, kas paredzēja šī mērķa realizāciju. Izveidojās Eiropas Ogļu un Tērauda savienība, kurā ietilpa 6 Eiropas valstis.
Kopīga rīcība un sadarbība nodrošināja strauju ogļu un tērauda ražošanas apjoma pieaugumu. Pozitīvi rezultāti sekmēja tālāku šo valstu ekonomisko integrāciju.…
