Conclusion
A major factor behind the wars in the Middle East in 1973, 1979 and 1990 was oil. That’s why they were called the wars caused by the energy crisis. As electric power and fuel energies have a direct bearing on people’s livelihood, the issue of energy is far from simply a resource problem, and will undoubtedly become a major challenge to national and international security and social stability in the 21 st century. From a similar perspective, wouldn’t the shortage or disruption of the electricity supply that resulted from a failure to diversify energy sources or to connect smart grids threaten national security? Conversely, if Taiwan were to suspend its nuclear power without any safe environmentally-friendly alternatives to take its place, making it necessary to connect with the Fujian nuclear power plants across the Taiwan Strait, how would people in Taiwan feel, then?

It is clear that the production and use of nuclear energy should outweigh the costs. Sustainable and responsible use of nuclear energy is needed to achieve international energy objectives, however issues of the safety, nuclear proliferation and affordability of nuclear energy must be taken to count.
