Empathy is defined in year 1969 by Hogan as the intellectual or imaginative apprehension of another’s condition or state of mind. It is the ability to understand another’s point of view. It involves a willingness to put oneself in another’s place. It involves a worker responding in an understanding manner to comments made by client. There important is eye contact.
More empathic workers seem to do no better with their clients than less empathic workers. On the other hand, empathy is valuable skill.…
