2. The natural conditions.
The conception of Barnets region may have political and economical roots, but every argumentation of co-operation is based in similar natural Northern conditions in this region, as nature doesn’t know political borders. That is why it is impossible to write about Barnets region and not give at least short description of natural conditions.
In one word the nature in Barents region can be described as arctic. Nature in Barents region has a huge areas, which remains human intact, but also there is increasing economical industrial activities there – and some if them very dangerous as they are connected to nuclear power, oil and gas. The Arctic Tundra characterizes the northern part whereas enormous conifer forests dominate in southern areas. As there are different types of forestry, the diversity of species living and growing in Barents region is high.
Typical example of nature in Russian Barents region is described in Murmansk presentation site. It says that climate is unstable; snow in summer is as possible as rain in winter. The day time in region can be from 0 to 24 hours, as there are polar days and nights. The forests of the first group are protective tundra, water protective and along the spawning rivers, industrial felling of which is forbidden, make 63% of the forest fund. …
