According to the outset of the Schuman Plan, which launched European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC)1, the role of Germany can be defined as central in the aspect of European integration2. Integration on the European level was and still remains an important question. Durring the Cold War era it was the „Monnet method”3 that spoke of supranational integration within the European framework.
Some changes, as for example the fall of Berlin Wall in 1989, end of the Cold war and the unification of Germany had led to re-opening German question, and more precisley – role of Germany within the context of European integration.
The reconsilation with France led to transformations not only in German policy, but as well in the Franch policy. France after a long period of time considered Germany not as a potential enemy, but as a potential cooperation partner. …
