People all across the world are tend to live in a globalised world for many centuries. The goods we buy and consume are likely to be produced by thousands of workers from possibly other part of the world. Process of globalization has been occurring for hundreds of years now, but the speed and effect of it now is different than in the past. It has always left a significant effect on every country no matter where it is or how developed it is. Although more developed countries must see process of globalization more positive than the less developed countries do.
In this essay, I want to examine globalization’s effect on less developed countries. Is it as positive as it should be? Or process of globalization is more suitable for more developed countries than less developed?
Globalization makes world more unequal.
In this book, Introducing Human Geographies: Second Edition, Jane Wills discusses how globalization has affected employment numbers all around the world. “There are now at least 60.000 transnational corporations directly employing many millions of workers across the world. Although most global companies have their roots in Europe and North America, there are growing numbers that originate in South America and South East Asia.” 1 My purpose here is to highlight, that globalization occurs everywhere, but effect of it in developed and developing countries is different. …
