In conclusion, interracial relationships are aroused through curiosity of an outside race or through a mutual understanding between male and female that is beyond race. Some interracial relationships develop and prosper but in most cases these relationships do not last very long because of outside racial tensions that threaten the relationship. Paul states, "I couldn't be involved with a white girl on a serious level. I tried it once and her friends got in it. Because of them, the relationship ended [quickly]." Through these two interviews I have discovered that, in this day and time, it is not impossible to be in a relationship with someone who is a different race from you, but it is difficult. There are always outside influences from society or family and friends that affect the dynamics of the relationship.
