My Experience Volunteering for the Church Helping Repair Homes of the Less Fortunate
Before we left for home Saturday morning, we visited each of the four teams' sites to see what they had done and meet the people living in these homes. Each team did a great job and each person living in the house was incredibly friendly. As we sat in the grass at Frank Lambert's house, I thought about the people we had met, the residents of this poor area of eastern Kentucky who have practically nothing, yet remain happy and grateful. I also thought about myself, how good I have it and how much I take for granted. The contrast made me a little uncomfortable. How do I complain about my "problems" after this?
