In 2011, Barry Posen argued that unipolarity was on the wane and that the world was moving towards multipolarity. [1] In 2019, John Mearsheimer also proclaimed that the international system was shifting from unipolarity to multipolarity. [2] In 2022, William Wohlforth claimed that the international system was heading towards a system that can be characterized neither as bipolarity nor multipolarity. [3] This just shows that when the world is constantly changing and evolving everyone will have their opinions and in the end, the perception of the world will be different for everyone. As my teacher in international relations said, when it comes to describing the world’s polarity there is no wrong or right answer.
