I have read the book “The gold bug” by Edgar Allan Poe. The publisher of it is the state text-book publishing house of the ministry of education of the RSFSR Leningrad branch. It was published in 1960. This book has no ISBN number. The price of the book is given in non-existing tender.
This book is a fiction book. It contains two stories- “The gold bug” and “The Murders in the Rue Morgue”. I have read the first one. It has 48 pages and nearly 17856 words. The story is illustrated with 5 black-and-white drawings.
This is an adventure story about treasure search. The adventures take part at Sullian’s Island near Charleston, South Carolina. This island is a very singular one.
There are three characters (and a dog, which also is an important character) in this story. Those characters are the main and only. One is Mr. William Legrand who has built a small hut on the island by himself, in which he lives with his old afro-American servant Jupiter (Jup) who is very much devoted to his master.…
