The question of whether teenagers should do household chores may appear simple, but it actually raises much broader questions about family life, responsibility, fairness, independence, and preparation for adulthood. A home does not maintain itself. Food must be prepared, dishes washed, rooms cleaned, rubbish removed, laundry organised, shopping completed, pets cared for, and many other small tasks repeated every week. When several people live together, these responsibilities must be handled by someone.
