Leader in his essence, as I perceive it, is someone who personally I and other employees would look up to as a role model, someone who would stimulate my internal growth and self-development, someone from whom I could learn lots of things not feeling incompetent or unknowledgeable at the same time. Being a leader is about being able to build long-lasting and trustworthy relationships with other people, which would result in having influence on these people without pushing or forcing them to following him.
He should not only be a great communicator, but also highly skilled and professional in his area of business. High competency and ability to drive innovation within one’s company arise from being passionate about individual’s work – that is how the true leader should feel about his work.
