Tg4 and the Irish Speaking Audience
After examining the Irish speaking audience of TG4 we can conclude a number of things. Firstly Research that has been carried out to date does help us gain knowledge of the audience however there are a number of inconsistencies and flaws when used for examining only the Irish speaking audience of TG4 and not the overall audience. We can safely say that the AC Nielson ratings and MRBI survey do not confidently tell us sufficient information about this audience.
Secondly we can see that a research project as described in section 2 of this report would offer us much more information than we have at the moment and could clarify the points which are unclear and absent from past studies.
Lastly we can conclude that the uses and gratifications approach to audience research could provide us with some potentially crucial information however the accuracy and solidity of this research could not be definite.
