It was because of him and his aggressiveness in arguing his point; states are required to provide a person who can not afford legal representation a lawyer. His most important case was Engel verses Vitale. This case went to the Supreme Court because some people wanted to remove a prayer which was being recited in the New York City Public Schools. They believed that Church and State affairs should be separated. Besides these two, there are many other Justices who have made a name for themselves because of their contribution in the U.S Supreme Court.
The U.S Supreme Court which is a part of the Judicial Branch was built for the soul purpose to be a referee between the Executive and Legislative Branches. Thanks to the Justices who believed and voiced their opinions through the courts to fight for the rights of those who could not fight for themselves. Because of them we now have a system which continues to balance the laws of the land.
