This situation may occur due to differences in the culture, society, and anthropology of a particular language. Therefore, it is necessary to have knowledge of the rules of word formation of lexical units and their compatibility, which is also studied by linguistics. For instance, the word sibling means either brother or sister, but in the Russian language there is no one word that would have the same meaning.
To conclude, I would like to underline that the linguistic knowledge has a vital role in the profession of a translator. It is impossible to be sure about the correctness of the translation and the accuracy of the understanding of what is said without knowing the etymology of words, their structure, social and cultural characteristics. The translator, having linguistic knowledge, is able to translate accurately and close to the context.
