Herbert Ernest Bates (1905-1974) is an English writer. His works ranges from comic novels to war fiction (1). When he joined the Royal Air Force during the war, he was given the job to write short stories about war (2).
“The Song of The Wren” is story about woman, which lives in her own little world. Her interests differ from other people. Some can think that this woman is strange, but that does not make her worse than others. I think that a reason why she is doing this research about birds is loneliness. I think that Miss Shuttleworth is a lonely person and she is trying to make her life more colorful. It is possible that she has nobody to take care about so she is taking care about birds.
This text is divided in smaller paragraphs to show where new idea is started. The main characters are Miss Shuttleworth and Mister Adamson, and of course birds.…
