The SWOT analysis presents strength and weaknesses of the situation indicating the most essential elements that can affect the outcome of the problem. Although many opportunities exist such as to develop, to become one of the best schools in the region that are meant for children with special needs, still the school must take into consideration also the possibility of threat factor such as losing its good reputation and even teachers.
The case has provoked a chain reaction which has given only a slight positive effect. Several alternatives have been presented in the report, but only a combination of the alternatives is recommended for implementation:
to organise a discussion between the principal or deputy principal of the school and/or teachers and a learner’s parents and the learner himself;
to organise individual extra lessons for the learner for additional payment;
to consult a psychologist in order to look for the solution – both the child and the teachers;
to introduce a penalty system (staying after school hours to do some unpleasant job like cleaning the toilets, kitchen etc.).
Therefore it is recommended that the school develops observation sheets which are filled in every lesson thus providing basis for discussions during regular meetings with parents and the child. Also some individual, but shorter as usual lessons for the learner would be advisable so that other learners and teachers could work properly without being disturbed but the misbehaving child would get some input. …
