The main heroes
The main heroes of this book are Greg Hefley and Rowley Jefferson.

Greg Hefley
Greg Hefley is lazy, petty, narcissistic, sociopathic, egotistical, eccentric, egocentric, usually backstabbing, and sometimes even selfish and dishonest, and he also lacks talent. He hardly has any skills aside from video games and possibly singing. However, despite all this, Greg still has had his kind and caring moments, just not that often. Greg’s goal is to be the most popular guy in school.
I don’t like Greg because he is a very bad friend. Greg never helps Rowley and he makes him carry his stuff for him, do his homework and projects, and check for dog poop on their way to school. He only remembers about Rowley when he needs him.

Rowley Jefferson
Rowley is best known for being a good best friend to Greg. Rowley is quite immature and seems a bit naive, but his charming, cheerful and innocent nature made him more popular with other students (particularly the girls) than Greg had.
I don’t understand why Rowley is still friends with Greg, because he is such a bad person to him and everyone else.
