What is bouldering
Bouldering is a style of rock climbing undertaken without a rope, where climbers rarely go higher than 2-7 metres above the ground;

This extreme sport emphasizes power, strength and dynamics;

Typically it is practiced on large natural or artificial boulders, but it may also be practiced at the base of larger rock faces, on buildings or public architecture.

The history
The documented origins of bouldering may be found in the United Kingdom, France, and Italy in the last quarter of the 19th century, when alpinism began to flourish;

British climbers declined to recognize bouldering as a legitimate sport in itself until 1930, the years between the World Wars, when they began to explore the separation of bouldering from traditional climbing.…
