Kundziņu dzimtās mājas ‘’Saprašas’’ bija tagadējā Mazsalacas pagasta teritorijā. Pēteris bērnībā bijis sapņotājs un sevī noslēdzies, daudz lasījis un zīmējis. Viņš mācījās vietējā Rauskas skolā, vēlāk Mazsalacas kroņa elementārskolā, bet 1902.gadā iestājās Valmieras skolotāju seminārā. 1906.gadā Pēteris Kundziņš iestājās Štiglica Centrālajā tehniskās zīmēšanas skolā Pēterburgā teātra dekorāciju klasē.…
