MARY WOLLSTONECRAFT (1759-1797)
Mary Wallston Graft experienced the philosophical, feminist liberation she wrote about.
Only a century after her death, she was finally recognized for her moral and political writing.
In Wollstonecraft’s first book, “A Vindication of the Rights of Men” she debunked the notion of monarchy and instead called for the creation of a republican nation. She was also unhappy that women were portrayed as passive vessels in a male-dominated world.

GERTRUDE STEIN (1874-1946)
In her work as an avant-garde writer and devoted advocate to modern artists, Gertrude Stein rose against the patriarchy.
Stein travelled around Europe, finally established herself in Paris with her brother, Leo. The pair started collecting art, especially works by contemporary avant-garde artists.
They had Saturday- night salon.
Stein was not famous until 1933 when she published a book titled “The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas”. Because of the book’s popularity, Stein grew a name and face recognized across the globe.
