Conclusions
With Baden-Württemberg being German automotive industry’s centre, as well as playing a significant role in European and worldwide automotive market, there are a lot of positive impacts on state and its inhabitants as whole.
First, the automotive industry grows every year as the demand for cars increases. Larger number of sales boosts country’s GDP as well as creates new jobs. Work opportunities can potentially attract graduates and skilled workers to the region and thus increasing the quality of production.
Next, as mentioned before, the region has such established and worldwide known automotive industry’s players as Daimler, Porsche and Bosch that have operated for over a century and have proven brand quality. With that there is a certain customer base that would not change values and would stay loyal to the brand. Thus, the potential new market entrants would have problem of acquiring that customer base.
Also, with technologies developing, there is a large potential for environmentally friendly automobiles as people are becoming more environmentally aware. Therefore, with investments in R&D to pursue eco-automobiles the region will gain in at least two main ways – having less carbon emission and having more satisfied inhabitants.
